Ever notice how morning coffee starts off so wonderful...?
Even the process of coffee creation is interesting: there is the aroma of the ground beans, the sound of gurgling as the water filters through the maker, the rumble of hissing steam rattling the pipes and valves... all these sensory textures invigorate the body long before the caffeine ever hits.
Then there is that first sip... the heat, the taste - the bitter and sweet melding together - all working in harmony to rouse the slacking sections of the somatic system into sentience once more.
If one could stretch that momentary flash of perfection across the breadth of the day, the world would be a happier place.
But alas...
The moment fades, the coffee cools, and one is left with rancid dregs, a fecal morass of precipitating chemicals, stagnating in the dungeon of a mug... is this not the taste of all existence in the truest form?
Fuck that. While some may read this and be forever lost down the philosophical toilet, I'll just get another cup and remain perky for a little longer... ya just gotta love stimulants in the morning!
Later!
